【Moistening Purgative】 has a sweet and neutral nature, and may contain fatty oils. It is used for dry stools, straining during bowel movements, and similar conditions. It is more suitable for physically weak and elderly people to moisten the intestines and promote bowel movements.

【Potent Purgative】 has drastic effects, and is indicated for acute and severe conditions such as thoracic and abdominal fluid accumulation, edema, and urinary and bowel obstruction. It should not be taken in excessive amounts or over a prolonged period, such as croton (ba dou).
