Bitter orange fruit is also known as goose-eye bitter orange and sour orange bitter orange. It is the dried immature fruit of sour orange or sweet orange, and the smaller the fruit, the higher its medicinal value. ①Accumulation of excessive heat in the gastrointestinal tract with constipation: For example, no bowel movement for several days, severe abdominal bloating and pain,with increased pain when the abdomen is pressed, sometimes with a hard mass palpable in the abdomen, accompanied by bad breath, a thick yellow tongue coating, and feeling hot. It is often combined with rhubarb, mirabilite, and other herbs.
②Damp-heat diarrhea and dysentery with tenesmus (severe cases): For example, abdominal pain and diarrhea, usually dysentery, with a sensation during each trip to the bathroom that the anus is being pulled downward by a heavy weight, causing severe discomfort, while little stool is passed (tenesmus).
