When cooked, it is neutral in nature, sweet and bland, promotes urination and benefits while also tonifying, strengthens the spleen, dispels dampness, and stops diarrhea; it is suitable for spleen deficiency with excessive dampness and no heat or only mild heat. Use raw coix seed to promote urination, relieve painful obstruction, clear heat, and expel pus; use cooked coix seed to strengthen the spleen and stop diarrhea.
The Compendium of Materia Medica records that coix seed is a Yangming medicinal herb that can strengthen the spleen and benefit the stomach. When deficient, tonify the mother organ; therefore, it is used for lung abscesses and pulmonary atrophy. For disorders of the tendons and bones, treating the Yangming meridian is fundamental, so it is used for muscle spasms, tendon stiffness, and wind-dampness arthralgia. Earth controls water and removes dampness, so it is used for diarrhea, dysentery, and edema.

Shipping Issues
