Chinese arborvitae leaves are also known as fragrant arborvitae and oriental arborvitae. They are the dried twigs and leaves of the Chinese arborvitae, a medicinal herb used to regulate blood.
Properties and flavor: Bitter, astringent, and cold.Enters the lung, liver, and spleen meridians.
It helps cool the blood and stop bleeding, resolve phlegm and relieve cough, and promote hair growth and darken the hair. It is commonly used for vomiting blood, nosebleeds, coughing up blood, bleeding gums, blood in the stool, uterine bleeding, lung-heat cough, heat in the blood, hair loss, and prematurely graying hair.
Tips
Drynaria rhizome30 grams, sliced; dried Chinese arborvitae leaves: 15 grams, chopped; safflower10 grams; aged dried ginger, 10 grams; add500 milliliters of 50- to 60-proof grain-distilled liquor ( glass jar: Do not use plastic or metal containers. Seal and store in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place. Soak for 15 to 30 days, then strain out the herbs with cheesecloth and set aside for use.
Directions and dosage
Dip a cotton swab in an appropriate amount of the medicinal liquor and apply it to the skin affected by alopecia areata (patchy hair loss forming smooth, round areas),repeatedly wiping and rubbing the area. Rub until the scalp is slightly red and warm (do not rub too forcefully or break the skin). Alternatively, use fresh ginger slices to enhance absorption: first apply the medicinal liquor to the scalp with a cotton swab, then gently rub the affected area with the cut side of a fresh ginger slice for 2 minutes to stimulate the hair follicles.
Use 2 to 3 times daily, approximately 5 milliliters each time. One course lasts 15 days,After 1 to 2 months of consistent use, fine white or light-colored vellus hairs should begin to grow normally in the affected areas.
Contraindications: Do not take orally; do not use on damaged skin or if allergic to alcohol;
Not suitable for androgenetic alopecia (male-pattern hair loss): This formula primarily uses the dispersing and blood-activating properties of the herbs to stimulate the follicles affected by alopecia areata. If overall hair thinning is caused by excess scalp oil and high androgen levels (receding hairline or a bald spot at the crown), this strongly stimulating method will not be effective.
