This product is unsulfur-fumigated. It is “strongly” recommended that you refrigerate it for long-term storage after receiving it. Alisma rhizome, also known as water alisma,is the dried rhizome of the Alismataceae plants Oriental water plantain or water plantain. It is a Chinese medicinal herb used to clear heat and promote diuresis and drain dampness.

It has a sweet, bland flavor and a cold nature. It enters the kidney and bladder meridians.

It helps promote urination, reduce swelling, drain dampness and clear heat, relieve vomiting and diarrhea, and lower high blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood lipids, among other effects. It is commonly used for difficulty urinating, edema and abdominal distension, diarrhea, phlegm-fluid retention with dizziness, and painful, difficult urination due to heat, as well as related conditions involving high blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood lipids. It also has various pharmacological effects, including inhibiting kidney stone formation, dilating blood vessels, protecting against liver injury, promoting urination, inhibiting atherosclerosis, inhibiting platelet aggregation, preventing thrombosis, and reducing inflammation.

Stir-fried alisma is made by stir-frying alisma over low heat until it turns yellowish brown. This moderates its properties while strengthening its ability to promote urination and drain dampness.

Tips

Winter Melon, Alisma, and Crucian Carp Soup:2 lb winter melon with skin, 4oz lean meat, 1 crucian carp, 10g lotus leaf, 80g coix seed, poria, 20g alisma, and 3 slices of ginger.

First, cut the winter melon into pieces with the skin on. Soak the Chinese herbs and coix seed briefly. Drain the crucian carp and pan-fry it until lightly golden. Place all the ingredients in a clay pot, add 3000 ml of water, bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 1.5 hours. Season to taste and serve.

Don't worry! All orders we ship include shipping insurance. If you do not receive your order or the items arrive severely damaged and unusable, please contact us so we can submit a claim on your behalf.
