Korean ginseng is the cultivated product of ginseng (Panax ginseng), a plant in the Araliaceae family(don't expect wild ginseng), consisting of the dried roots and rhizomes after processing through multiple steaming steps. Because it is produced on the Korean Peninsula, it is commonly known as “Korean ginseng.”

It contains various ginsenosides, volatile oils, amino acids, trace elements, organic acids, sugars, vitamins, and other components. After high-temperature steaming, ginseng’s medicinal nature changes from “slightly warm” to “warm”, significantly enhancing its effects of replenishing qi, supporting yang, and dispelling cold. Its components are not only transformed; more red-ginseng-specific saponins with anticancer and anti-fatigue activity, such as Rg3 and Rh2, are also produced.
