Huai wheat is the dried fruit of wheat, a plant in the grass family. It is mainly produced in the Jianghuai region, and Bozhou, Anhui, is widely recognized as a key production area. According to documented records, the Huai wheat produced there has plump grains and a high concentration of active medicinal components, producing notable calming effects and earning it the reputation of an “authentic traditional Chinese medicinal material.”

It has the effects of nourishing the Heart and calming the spirit, supplementing qi and nourishing yin, strengthening the spleen and stomach, and reducing sweating and relieving steaming sensations. It is used for restlessness, insomnia and excessive dreaming, spontaneous sweating due to yang deficiency, night sweats due to yin deficiency,fever due to yin deficiency, steaming bone fever, indigestion, poor appetite, abdominal bloating, and post-illness weakness, among other symptoms.
Tips
Huai wheat may be used alone or together with calming Chinese medicinal herbs, such as sour jujube seeds;
Blood-Nourishing and Calming Recipe: 50g each of Huai wheat and japonica rice, 10g each of tiger lily bulb and pitted red date slices. Cook with water to make porridge, then add rock honey sugar to taste.
Licorice, Wheat, and Red Date Soup: 9g licorice, 15g Huai wheat, and ten red dates (approximately 30g), pitted. Add 1,200 milliliters of water, boil until reduced by half, strain, and divide into three warm doses.
Licorice, Wheat, and Red Date Soup originated from Zhang Zhongjing’s Essentials from the Golden Cabinet during the Han dynasty. It nourishes the stomach and promotes fluid production, enriches the blood and moistens dryness, supplements the Heart and spleen, and calms the spirit and mind. It is primarily used for visceral restlessness, with symptoms such as mental confusion, sadness and a desire to cry, inability to control oneself, agitation, disturbed sleep, abnormal speech and behavior, a red tongue with little coating, and a thin, rapid pulse.
In modern clinical practice, it is commonly used to treat hysteria, menopausal syndrome, neurasthenia, nighttime crying in children, uncontrollable crying, irritability and insomnia, excessive dreaming and mental confusion, restlessness, depression, and other conditions.

Shipping Issues
