This product is the dried root tuber of Ophiopogon japonicus, a plant in the Liliaceae family. It is harvested, washed clean, repeatedly exposed to the sun and piled up, with fibrous roots removed, and then dried. It earned its name because it is primarily produced in Sichuan (Mianyang or Fucheng, etc.), and it is regarded as an authentic regional medicinal herb in the Chinese medicine community. It is an essential medicine for clearing heat and nourishing Yin.
