Hui Chun Cao, also known as Hui Xin Cao (its shoots are bright red when they first emerge, resembling a human heart), Kidney-Nourishing Herb, Immortality Herb, Deer Antler Reishi, and Sky-Pillar Herb, isA perennial herb in the Wedelia genus of the Asteraceae family; the whole plant may be used medicinally. It is mainly found growing wild in the dense mountain forests of Yunnan and is commonly used to make infused liquor, steeped water, boiled water, and stewed soup.
Mild and slightly bitter in taste; neutral in nature; associated with the heart, liver, and kidney meridians.

Tips
Hui Chun Cao has a slightly bitter taste when steeped in water by itself.
Hui Chun Cao 5 g, 3 red dates, goji berries 10 g, and 2–3 pieces of rock sugar; water 500 ml (may be refilled several times).
For everyday infused liquor: A main-herb-to-liquor ratio of “1:10” is recommended.
For example: Soak 50 g each of Hui Chun Cao and raspberry, 100 g goji berries, and 1,000 ml high-proof baijiu or sorghum liquor for at least 30 days. (You may also add 2–3 of the following herbs: cistanche, polygonatum, morinda root, epimedium, cistanche, ginseng, codonopsis root, reishi, and others.) Add an appropriate amount of goji berries for an excellent flavor.
For stewing or making soup
Chicken or lamb 16 oz, lean meat 4 oz, Hui Chun Cao and codonopsis root, 20 g each; astragalus and goji berries, 10 g each; 5 pitted red dates; ginger and water as needed.
Silkie chicken 8 oz, lean meat 4 oz, Hui Chun Cao 20 g, ginseng, goji berries, and prepared polygonatum, 10 g each; water as needed. Simmer for 3–4 hours.
One pork kidney or pork penis, chicken 4 oz, Hui Chun Cao and Korean ginseng, 10 g each; cistanche and goji berries, 5 g each; water as needed. Simmer for 4–5 hours.
Pork bones 16 oz, 3–5 chicken feet, Hui Chun Cao and cistanche, 20 g each; epimedium 3 g; goji berries and codonopsis root, 5 g each; 3 pitted red dates; ginger and water as needed.
Oxtail 16 oz, Hui Chun Cao and cistanche, 10 g each; angelica root and astragalus, 5 g each; ginger and water as needed. Simmer for 3 hours.
Lamb, oxtail, pork kidney, or pork penis should be cut into pieces, then blanched with an appropriate amount of ginger, scallions, and cooking wine to remove any odor before use.

Shipping Issues
